Lenoir City Fire was established in 1925 as a volunteer department. Throughout the years leading up to 1985 the department consisted of all volunteers and went in route to fire calls, and wrecks with pins or entrapments. In 1985 the department went to full time paid with 6 career firefighters and a Chief.
